Our grade six students at VOH Kitwe are learning cooking skills! As part of their cooking class, the teacher demonstrated proper food hygiene and reminded students to practice what they learned about the WHO’s nutritional guidelines.
The students were so excited to cook a variety of dishes. They prepared some local favourites, including pumpkin leaves mixed with groundnuts, beans, cassava leaves, Nshima, rice, and sausage. They also made juice from oranges that grow on the trees here at our VOH Centre.
After preparing the food, the students brought it to the administration staff for a taste test. The staff loved it, and the children were happy and encouraged to hear they had cooked such a delicious meal!
